Well well...it all started on that fateful night when Naomi, Gemma and Caroline were in Harrys (trying to obtain alcohol in any place they could-as blues and stamps had stopped serving, but that's another story for another day kids) when Gemma suggested to Naomi that they should form a band...and as Caro was there, she said she would sing. Our band is made up of people, folk if you will, with instruments.
So there it is on that rainy day in december, the basis of the band was born. (note, it was neither raining nor in december, i used my artistic license to add drama).
Simultaneously (oooh get on that word) Rachael and Naomi had been discussing forming a band, with a violinist for a while, so we all joined forces á la power rangers and....ok i don't actually know what happened at this point, Rachael just...was.
Then we needed a drummer, so we thought hey, why not get an amazing guitarist to be our drummer, just to be mad for it.....and because nobody else could play the drums. So lucy, the sent from muscian heaven, became our drummer.
No sooner had we selected all our members, the name snide folk came to each of us in a dream (after months of suggesting names...), in which snide was Gemma's favourite word, and folk meant both the genre of music and a collective name for a group of people (note, this 'dream' was probably just real and those events may have just happened in a band practice, i dunno)
We then decided to appoint a new vocalist known as the great 'laura' and switch caro to bass, this appears to be working better for the band on the whole and we're branching out and playing a gig in stamps on sunday 11th March 6pm, now u've read this you're obliged to go.
We all attend Sacred Heart Catholic College (hell yeah!) and love nothing better than having a band practice at Naomi's on a Sunday. Having a bit of a laugh (at Carolines expence...) but none the less, we love it :D

'Sorry I was just harmonising...........with myself' - Gemma

'I look so boho' - Gemma

(Said in a mocking tone..) Caro : 'Are you wearing a death cab for cutie t-shirt?'
Naomi: '....are you wearing a charlie and the chocolate factory t-shirt!?'

Whilst Gemma and Naomi were in TK Maxx shopping for a dressing gown for nay's mother, Gemma suggested a blue one, Naomi replied with "No, the white ones are classier", as she said this, she parted 2 white dressing gowns and to her horror flashed the words PLAYBOY which where printed on one of the white dressing gowns.....y....

"I AM QUEEN OF NARNIA" - Lucy, in Gemma's dream....yes...it was bizarre

Gemma trying to say paint shop pro - "Paint Shop Pro Shop"

Gemma: (describing a friend) "But she's so gentile!"
Naomi: What!?! As in a non-jew?

(Lucy talking about about two tubs of pasta she was holding);
"They're like my babies.."
Gemma: "...Except you eat them"

When there's ever any doubt, Sniders say "Just do it!"

Lucy and Gemma talking about the local Swede "Helga...Helga is hungry. Helga want chair...chair for dance."

Lucy and Gemma again "It's time for luncheon!"

In a strong Northern Irish accent - "He's a gay man noi!!!!"

Laura to naomi after listening to torn on her mp3 player "I was just listening to your guitar part"
Naomi after listening to the track "....but it's acoustic laura, my guitar part isn't on there...."

Sniders are everywhere, spreading the joy of sweet music. - Jenny Mary Hughes - the Godess!

Phrases we like to use:
"Thats a proper tinkle"
"That is well tall!"
"That's lethal!"

Influences: Mrs Fraser....Mr Preston...Barry Manilow...I mean, just look at the length of his arms!!!!

Not forgetting the wonderful Sinsuys! Beautiful....

Sounds Like: A bouncy ball dropping in a long empty corridor....a clear lack of bass n vocals - that was in the olden days.

We now sound much, much better! We have bass AND Vocals!!

Battle of the Bands 2006

So...Battle of the bands went well.We played Mr Brightside perfectly....worked the crowd (we think), and as a first gig to about 300 people it went quite well.Although...our own song...it is brilliant...
