About Me

Acoustic Heavy Handed Swamp-Soul Sludgebilly.I'm so second-hand Dixie. Each of my songs is a flower covered in concrete. I'm a "Northern Rock" artist. I'm a Tennessee wannabe. I stir the stew of styles that no one wants to taste, but often ask for seconds. I can't tell you if what I'm doing is good or not, but it's what is within me. I have songs that feel like hot nickels were poured into my head.Suffice t'say; I've lived a life that has provided me plenty o' subject matter t'write of. I don't like record labels or corporate intervention. I take no issue with playing my country/pop/bluegrass songs and then turnin 'round and tearing up the stage with a loud 'n obnoxious hard rock band. There is a man with an ugly hat & guitar that plays what he wants, when he feels like it, breaks when he please & starts back up on a whim. That fella is me.I dig visits down south, stomping on mountains, spicy catfish, crawdads, fried mush, hiking east-Kentucky by my lonesome (that's where most songs begin for me), hitting the red river gorge now 'n again, mud-booting through TN, walking sticks, chained rocks, barns made of real wood, prayers made of real crying, hymns made of real praising, & mind thumpin' by studying the history of appalachia. My songs are the sum of a past you wouldn't believe & a present that is like an entirely different life. I hope you dig 'um.Eat here when y'can!

Music:

Band Members: Just me
Influences: Townes Van Zandt, Dwight Yoakam, Otis Redding, Johnny Cash, the Beatles & Van Morrison Bob Dylan, Zakk Wylde, John Prine, Doc watson, System of a down, Lorretta Lynn & Tesla. My influences juggle Bluegrass, Pop, Rock, Heavy Rock, Blues, Psychedelia, Classic Rock, Gospel, & Old Country. I dont play any one of those styles remarkably well, but I sure can pummel them into a pancake worth cookin! One must taste a few morsels of the meal I'm fixin'...then try the side dishes to understand. I hope you'll stop by for a chomp now & then.
Sounds Like: I sound like mountain music from North Virginia. Black Sabbath gone Country. Queen gone straight. Bob Dylan gone Glam. Pink Floyd on grits. Paul Simon gone Punk. Pearl Jam without pre-tense. OutKast in the old West. Lynyrd Skynyrd with the flu. Hank on crank. Doc Watson minus his talent. Patsy Cline's angry libido.
Record Label: Don't want one, thank you!
