About Me

Tina's Ports of Paradise,is a multi-talented, multi-cultural dance troupe, provides an hour long adventure to the mystical islands of the South Pacific, featuring original authentic dances and costumes of the South Sea Islands.
Our Polynesian musical performances includes the beautiful songs and hulas of Hawaii, the fun-filled "siva" and captivating fire knife dance of Samoa, the exciting drums and energy-filled dances of Tahiti and the Cook Islands, as well as the extraordinary Maori Haka and Poi Ball dances, and the exciting Fijian spear dance. Performances are sometimes enhanced with a black light effect, offering a glimpse of the bright, brilliant, beautiful colors of Polynesia.
Tina, as narrator and mistress of ceremonies, teaches and explains the different island dances and their meanings, engaging her audiences in the excitement of the drums, music, and dance which will leave you breathless, and through audience participation, a gift of personal experience to share with family and friends.
Our presentation includes various types of music for the audience's dancing and listening pleasure. Tina's musicians are versatile and can accommodate any style of music, such as Top 40, Country, Oldies, Jazz, Soul, Rock 'n Roll - whatever satisfies the soul.
Tina Vainuku (lovingly and respectfully known as "Auntie Tina"), our group founder, instructor and leader, and a performer from the age of 5, continually displays her lifetime of experience through her group's performances. Tina's Ports of Paradise has toured Canada and the USA for many years, including such places as The Hong Kong Inn and Ventura Theater in Ventura, California, The Valley Club and Burnham Wood Country Club in Montecito, The Shangri-La Resort in Afton, Oklahoma, The Hawaiian Restaurant in S.L.C., Utah, the Royal Inn in Abilene, Texas, Executive Hotel in Oxford, Alabama, Mission Hills Resort in Missouri, the Kewadin Casinos in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, the Shooting Star Casinos in Mahnomen, Minnesota, and is a star attraction each year at the Ventura County Fair, as well as many Polynesian festivals in and out of California. Tina, and her amazing group of dancers and musicians have wowed audiences and students at performances and workshops at many Universities, Colleges, High Schools, Jr. High Schools, and Elementary Schools throughout the mainland USA.
Through focus, hard work, and heart-filled dedication, Tina's Ports of Paradise continuously strives to provide our audiences of all ages and all heritages a wonderfully memorable experience of the beautiful Pacific Island cultures, sharing with all the spirit of Aloha.
Thank you for your interest in Tina's Ports of Paradise. We look forward to the opportunity to share a little of Polynesia's paradise with you.
