About Me

Not a lot to tell, really. I've officially been married for a year now (and I've been informed that this means we're no longer newlyweds--still feels like we are though!). We have 2 puppies now, Twitch and Wickett. Hopefully I will soon post some pics of them on here! In any case, they are cute (of course) and they are a little over 7 months old. They do a very good job of keeping me company (and keeping me on my toes) while Earnie is out to sea (which is often!).Let's see, what else can I tell you? I have a Bachelor's Degree in English and I will eventually get around to working on my Master's (just haven't quite started yet...) and hopefully someday a PhD (yes, I want to be a professional student!). I'm 25, a native of Frenchburg, Ky (out in the boondocks, essentially--pretty much NOTHING there...not a big mystery why I wanted to leave in a hurry!). I love Dean Koontz books. Reading is one of my fave pasttimes! I love animals. I don't have any pets yet, but I want to eventually get either a Pug or a Miniature Pinscher (hopefully in the near future!). I'm not a big fan of organized religion, but I'm a very spiritual person. I see organized religion as rituals and rules, not belief or faith. I drive a Jeep Wrangler (my baby!) and I have a gypsy/nomadic lifestyle (not just because I married a man that's in the Navy). I love to travel and get kinda antsy staying in one place too long. Hmm...What else can I tell you...I just got my nose peirced and I love tattoos, just don't have any...YET! :) If there's anything else you might like to know, just ask--Always open to conversation with new people!

My Interests

Let's see...Spending time with my husband is definitely a big one ...my Jeep, reading, writing, literature, poetry, history, philosophy (ok, so I'm a nerd!), goofing off on the computer, spending time outside (when the weather's warm -- preferably in the 70s!), stargazing, listening to music, goofing off with friends, Garfield comics...

I'd like to meet:

Christopher Marlow and Dean Koontz (ok, yes, I know one of these is a LOT less likely than the other, but it would still be cool!)

Music:

Nickelback (all-time favorite!), Coldplay, Joss Stone, Gretchen Wilson, Toby Keith, Disturbed, Godsmack, Emerson Drive, Kenny Chesney, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Trace Adkins, Billie Holiday, Sean Paul, Beyonce, Kelis, Gary Allan, DC Talk, Jars of Clay, Sawyer Brown, Nelly, Mercy Me, pretty much all classical music...Basically, anything except Bluegrass... Nickelback - Someday

Movies:

Van Helsing, The Princess Bride, Finding Nemo, Ice Age, Lilo & Stitch, The Day After Tomorrow, Coyote Ugly, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Harry Potter movies, Star Wars (All of them!), National Treasure, Constantine, Hitch...I'm sure I could go on and on, but I think for now I'll draw the line here!

Television:

CSI (all 3 of them!), NCIS, Ghost Whisperer, Threshold, Charmed, Supernatural, Criminal Minds, and Scooby Doo.

Books:

"The Taking", by Dean Koontz -- This is just an AWESOME book! The Harry Potter Books, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, all other Dean Koontz books (yes, I literally mean ALL--I think have everything he's ever written!), Vanity Fair, Night, Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code, Still Waters, Night Sins, and any Far Side Gallery! :) Actually, there are lots more, especially if I decided to count plays (I especially like Christopher Marlowe and Shakespeare) or poets (e.e. cummings and T.S. Eliot!), but I think I'll just stop here for now!

Heroes:

Not sure really; the word 'hero' is used so lightly these days. I'm sure the standard answer would be for me to put my parents or something like that, but that's just not the case. Don't get me wrong, my parents are great...I mean, they put up with me, after all! But I think instead I'll have to go with...Abby from NCIS? ;) (Inside joke... :D )

My Blog

Time...

Have you ever noticed that time slows down when you most want it to go by quickly? For example, this past week has felt like it was a month long. Last Tuesday, my husband flew back to Maine, and when ...

Toy Run!

Yesterday I went with a friend on what is called a toy run. Hadn't actually heard of them before he asked me if I wanted to go. The main idea of it was a group of bikers (most of them were members of ...

Yeah, I know...

Curiosity killed the cat. But the cat had 9 lives, so it came back knowing what it needed to know, right?  Anyway, thought I'd see what this whole blogging thing was about; seems to be pretty pop...
