I am here for Friends

About Me

First off my name is Stephanie. I grew up in good ol' Riverside (So Cal), and I love to go home and visit my family (although I don't get home enough).
I am now on my second half of my college career and starting to think about the future as far as school and work after I graduate. Growing up can be a scary thing but I am ready to face it head on. I am actually looking forward to the day I am out of school and finally starting a career.
While I am looking forward to the future I am completely enjoying the present. I love where I am at right now. I am having a lot of fun in Chico and am grateful for all the opportunities I have been presented with while attending Chico State.
Faith is a huge part of my life and always will be. While it has been challenged over the years by various things, my faith has remained strong (it's the one constant in my life). I firmly believe in God and destiny, and I know that things happen for a reason.
If you get to know me you'll learn I'm a huge quote fanatic...so below is just a small taste of it. Hope you enjoy them :) Have a wonderful day

My Interests

I love life. Everything facinates me. I can be perfectly happy just taking a walk or a hike just as much as if I was taking a crazy road trip.I have a very deep desire to travel, and I am trying my best right now to make it happen this coming summer.Things I like to do: draw, paint, photography, work on my car (Betty) I love her, work on cars in general, bike, hiking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, read novels, listen and play music, skateboarding, kneeboarding, off roading, driving dune buggies, playing with animals of all kinds from dogs to turtles to snakes, play sports, anything outdoors.

I'd like to meet:

People who have ambition and passion for something in life. Apathy and complacency kills.

Music:

Facedown records holds a special place in my heart, I can't get enough of the bands on this label. I enjoy just about every type of music. I grew up on rock, but I listen to everything from ska to gospel to punk, even to reggeton (thanks to Loida)

Movies:

I wacth way to many movies to put them on here. But I love all genres, except scary movies I can do without but I'll watch them if I have to.

Television:

Who needs tv when I have these people in my life? But I do love the Discovery channel, always up for watching that. I now want to do everything the guy on Many Vs Wild does, he's an inspiration :) I love Scrubs and The Office, those two shows bring a smile to my face.

Books:

Well, I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to books and I love to read. Seriously, taking me into a bookstore is like taking a kid into a candy store, except I will spend a couple of hours in there. So, books: The Bible of course, Siddhartha, Tuesday's With Morrie, SexGod, Sophie's World, Lord of the Flies, Night, Dante's Inferno, Mere Chritianity, Screwtape Letters, The Great Divorce, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, The House On Mango Street, Narcissus and Goldmund, I know Why The Caged Bird Sings, Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Great Gatsby,All Quiet On the Western Front,The Yellow Wall Paper,Little Women (my elementary school was named after the author), A Lesson Before Dying, Wild at Heart, and there are still more but I'll save the rest for another day. I basically love literature, and any book that challenges me and causes me to actually think, I enjoy.

Heroes:

All those who do what is right, not neccessarily popular. Those who still continue standing, even after they've gone through the midst of battle. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, my momma, Nathalie (you're such a source of inspiration), Loida (you continue going), Ray (one of the few constants), my big brother Tim. I admire so many of my friends who are such pillars of strength and great examples to me as well as others.

Who I Am Not

Surprise in the mail

So, I checked my mail today for the first time since last week. I got a package from my dad, and there was a calendar in it. The quote for April is a little long, but I liked it. Here it is: "As You G...

Weakness

Weakness. I've never met anyone who is happy when they feel weak. I definitly don't like to feel this way. And yet, weakness can be such a good thing when it comes to being used by God. 2 Corinthians ...

Down by the River

For those of you who don't know, I have a spot I always sit at by the river (not a creek, a river) that runs through the college. This is probably my favorite spot in Chico. I go there to ...

Life seems to throw so much at us all at once; full of good and bad things. Luckily for me, lately the good has overpowered the bad. But still, there seems to be things I just can't quit get past. Ha...

Would He do that for me?

This seems to be a question that has come up a lot lately in my life. Would God do that for me? Jesus' disciples questioned things so much. Jesus didn't cast them off the boat when they were scar...
