I'm a happily married man with five wonderful kids. I'm a Brooklyn, NY native, now residing in the ATL. Before moving to the A, I lived in East Harlem for 7 years and that's where I met my wife.
My tutalidge started back in 1982 in the streets of Brooklyn. DJ's Sha and La were the local DJ's (they lived across the street from me) who would bring out their set during the summer or whenever it was warm and play music all night long. Block parties were the thing back when I was growing up and it was a good excuse to party with all of your friends. Now anyone from the north, especially from NYC can attest to this saying, "Brooklyn N!&&@$ don't never stay home, you can find them anywhere!!" I can vouch for that because I never stayed home. That's how I met Kool DJ Red Alert. I studied under him for close to two years learning as much as one person can. If you don't know Red Alert know this, he loves music and he loves people. When I was with him his favorite saying was, "For each one, teach one". Meaning we all have a responsibility to educate, motivate and pull up one another so that we all can move to the next level. After leaving Uncle Red (because of my mother, she felt I was too young to hang out with him), I then met DJ Hollywood (after doing what my mother told me to do). But that was after the fact that I had carried crates of records to various venues Uncle Red and the Zulu Nation played at(Polo Grounds and etc.). With DJ Hollywood, I'd stepped my game up and guest Dj'ed in the Latin Quarters (Thank You Uncle Red), Bentley's, Silver Shadow, Club Zanzibar, Demarraras and etc. I thank all of the Dj's, radio personalities (Dr. Bob Lee), hip-hop artists that either I know personally (grew up with) or met through mutual friends for giving me a chance back in the day. Your knowledge and love will be passed on, it's the Brooklyn way!!
Here in the A, I've Dj'ed for various fashion shows (Fashion Shows Utld., Big Boned Women, Diva Day International), weddings, family reunions, leaderships conferences, cooperate and private events (Mary Kay, Emory University and others), Club Six, Dugan's, Club 29, The Atrium, The RedShoe Restaurant and many, many others!! I am a professional DJ (with my own equipment) and when hired to Dj for a new client, I like to meet with them personally so that I can get a feel of that person'(s) personality. This way, all expectations are met and that client is satisfied with my services. I'll even arrive to the event an hour to an 1 1/2 hour prior so that all problems or potential problems will be taken care of. I have alot of repeat customers who are more like family than clients. I specialize in weddings, themed and surprise birthday parties. DO THE MATH, I've been at this for over 20 YEARS and I plan to keep going. I'm affiliated with other entertainment companies, DJ's, promoters and etc. So, if I don't have what you need I can direct you to someone who can. I'm looking forward to connecting with and meeting new people. Look for my website: www.rawdawgzentertainment.com. I'll be happy to throw a party for you or DJ for you. Let's get this party started. HOLLA BACK, ONE!!
