His name is Adonis Cato, One of the newest and hottest up and coming rap artist blowing in for the Windy City, he is the facelift the hip hop world so badly needed.Adonis, was born April 3rd, on Chicago's lower Westside. Born the first of 3 children, Adonis was rasied by his parents to be a leader and to always strive to be the best at whatever he chose to pursue. His father who was a former star athlete in high school and college, taught his son the game of football, which eventually became his passion. Music being his 2nd love, Adonis met up with an up and coming DJ now known thoughout Chicago and broad as DJ Jamal Smalls(Full Impact dj's). Together they worked on their skills in music in Jamal's basement 'til 96' when Adonis found himself facing the long arm of the law.However a series of unexpected & unfortunate turn of events proved to be a blessing in disguise. A run in with the law put him in the system where he began to search for another form of expression and escape. This is where his 2nd love became his new passion, He started out writing letters to no one in particular, just writing his thoughts and feelings on paper. His letters soon turned into poetry, and his poetry soon turned into songs and raps. His first rap was a song called "Physical Pain and Mental Anguish", written during his stay in the system.Being reunited with Keyhol, his long time friend, and fellow rap artist, they began working on music together and developing relationships with other up and coming artists and producers. This landed Adonis in the studio of artist/producer/engineer KoSha @ B Smooth Enterprises where he began pre recordings for the awaited EP. Adonis is currently working with artist/engineer Anyi @ Move Studios on his debut EP entitled "The man... The monsta", and is also working on a collaboration LP with a up and coming R&B artist Fella, Anyi,Keyhole,KoSha & others, and it is definitely something to be on the lookout for.Adonis has put his mind, body and soul into the music he brings, in an effort to wake those sleeping minds who wander our streets everyday with no true sense of what is going on in our communities, in our country, and in every ghetto across the globe. He is a product of the only world he has ever known and he wants you to see the world he sees, and to see it the way he sees it. He also wants parents to learn and understand what goes on in the minds of their sons. And for sons to understand why parents are the way they are. Adonis' ultimate goal is to bridge the gaps between generations, races, genre's and cultures. And in his own words, "Who better to tell you to stay yo ass out of hell than the devil himself!"Beware, he's coming!"If I could step inside your mind, stand right behind your eyes and see what you see, what would you show me?"
