About Me

Please direct any booking inquiries to our email address (yukosthecrude AT yahoo.com), thanks.

If Elvis Costello fronted the Flaming Lips... they could open for Yukos the Crude! Formed in 2004 by USC Honors students, Yukos specializes in energetic shows and loud rock music with pit stops in ska, lounge, country, and metal. Along with the occasional Judas Priest cover, their diverse set of original songs cover topics ranging from Alaska to zombies, and include such favorites as "Okrakilla" (a staple on WUSC), "Richard Dean Anderson Died For Your Sins", and "Your Sweatpants Shall Be My Beacon".

Though their humorous lyrics attract fast attention, Yukos' seriously talented songwriting and over-stretched musicianship has kept every audience entertained and on its feet. The band also maintains a strong D.I.Y. ethic by recording in basements and shooting their own videos, while supporting Columbia venues and independent record shops for five fun-filled years. And like the (bankrupt) Russian oil giant for which they are named, Yukos continues to pound the skins and tap the earth, all to supply precious crude for the hungry masses..
