About Me

What is everybody saying about Over Tenth Street?

"Over Tenth Street plays pop punk the way it is supposed to be played..."
- All Ages Zine - Chicago, IL
"[On TV] manages to sound fresh with a catchy lead guitar and fresh vocals and a clever melody."
"[Over Tenth Street has] a nose for ear-catchers and I think [the recording] sounded professional and well-produced."
...and Eugene Foley from Foley Entertainment gives a 4 out of 5 on lead vocals, musicianship, lyric writing, and music composing and rated song arrangement a 4 - 4.5 out of 5.
About Over Tenth Street:
Over Tenth Street was formed in early 2005 when four friends, all previously members of other bands, joined their talents together to create unique and catchy tunes adored by their local fans. The band consists of Mike Dean on bass and lead vocals, Jake Clarke on guitar, Ian Green on guitar and vocals, and Russell Rowell on drums. Within five months, the band had written, recorded, and self-produced their debut EP, "This Can't Be Real."
"The CD came from a lot of weird things that happened to all of us over the previous few months..." says Mike. "It's about everything; from what we had, to what we wanted, just to random things." Recording the EP only took a few days, but was finished about 3 weeks after recording started, since Ian and Mike engineered everything themselves. "This Can't Be Real" was finally released June 23rd, 2005, only five months after forming the band.
Promoting the CD was a different story. With a dismal music scene in the Anniston, Alabama area, getting local shows was more difficult than it had been in years past, but Over Tenth Street was lucky enough to land shows with big names like The Sophomore Year and The Queers. Users of Garageband.com have given the EP great reviews, even featuring three of the songs as "Track of the Day." In October of 2005, the title track off of the EP was featured on Hidden Production's Unsigned Compilation "Burn This: Vol I."
By September of 2005, Over Tenth Street began writing a new album and giving the sound a more unique turn by drawing influences from bands such as Fall Out Boy, Blink 182, and Weezer. Aiming for a late Spring/early Summer '06 release of an album, Over Tenth Street is sure to make the most of 2006!
