I was born in Nashville but grew up in Benton Kentucky, a small town in the western part of the state. I learned of my love of music in a small town church in Hardin Ky., where my grandparents lived. Mom raised my sisters and me as a single parent. She attended church services regularly and made sure her children did too. We would all sit on the same row and sing hymns, which was my favorite part of church as a kid. Grandma sang the melody, Mom sang alto, and Gramps sang bass. I would take turns sitting beside each of them and learn to sing the part they were singing. I loved sitting next to Gramps the most because he would have his own fun with the bass line. (I believe today that he is the reason I chose to play the bass guitar) I learned to follow the notes on the page when I was 9 or 10 years old, and eventually could sing any part without looking. It wasn’t long until I slid right into the missing tenor part._______________________________________________________
_____When I was about thirteen me and a friend (Sam Ellington) put together a little duo and played Beatles songs and wrote a few of our own. At seventeen I joined a local band playing bass and singing harmony. We played bluegrass and songs from the 1950’s and even some Eagles tunes. The rest of the members of the band were about 20 years older than me, but I loved the music and felt like I fit right in._________________________________________________________

After attending Marshall County High School, then 2 years at Murray State University, I joined the U.S. Naval submarine fleet, where I was eventually stationed in Pearl Harbor Hawaii. During my military service, it was kind of hard to keep a band together, but I could always manage to find someone to jam with. When I moved back to Nashville I eventually hooked up with a classic rock band and did the Middle Tennessee bar circuit playing clubs, pubs and biker-bars._________________________________________________
____________I played with several rock bands as a bass player and backup singer, fronted a progressive rock band called Pulse. In my latest project, I got a taste of country music singing and playing with Daniel Smith and the Fifth Amendment (check out the video below) and played at the 2007 CMA music fest formerly known as Fan Fair. I am currently working as a support technician for an emergency notification software company out of Nashville.(and gigging out here and there when I can - of course).
