About Me

Music is my life and I can't really do anything else. I have been playing bass guitar and double bass for over twenty years in bands and for sessions across all styles and genres. I am currently working with The Tony Auton Band, Jenny McCormick, Liz Green and Mensch amongst others. After the first few tentative trips to recording studios I became interested in the whole process of recording and began to look, listen and learn as much as I could. I have been involved as tape op, assistant engineer, engineer, mixer and producer and have worked with acts such as New Model Army, Josiah, Eden Maine, Leif, The Jalapenos and had best album of 2004 with Lithuania's Skamp (in Lithuania of course).Ambulance is my first solo album and contains a mixture of minimalism, chance music and strangeness. I hope you enjoy the selection but I've had to leave off most of the minimalist stuff as the pieces are too long for myspace. "Death by disco" was written for a short film about Studio 54 and "Dark and moody theme" was for a radio commercial. The four new additions are pieces written as commissions "I is what you ain't" and "March of the space feaks" are from a sci-fi/comedy/musical film i've scored, "she moves through the fair" is an arrangement of a traditional tune for an animation as part of the "Tales" project and "Delayla" was written to top and tail chapters in an audio tour of Liverpool.Liz, Leon and me at the red deer club"Talk about love" with the tony auton band
