hey - Van Lawson here.I started the musicbarn by converting a small barn on my 60 acre farm, into a personal workspace for my music production clients. That way I was able to focus on all the details without the high cost of a full studio. After nearly 20 years of music production and 8 years in the musicbarn, however, it has grown from a small personal workspace into a facility centered around a 36x24x2 console, Pro Tools HD, Digital Performer 6, Reason, a mac G5, a Quad Core and an Eight Core. Other gear includes a Yamaha Motif, Korg Triton, Korg O1WProX, 12 guitars, around 48 microphones, Avalon, Joe Meek and Presonus preamps, and several outboard pieces.I've teamed with engineer David L. Price to produce, engineer or mix many projects over the past several years including recent projects for Jerimae Yoder (full project), Larry Yancey (mix), Stephanie Stewart and Considering Lillies (2 projects), Higher Ground (2 projects and a 2 Children's program on DVD), and many others. Most recently we shared production on 2 projects for Kent Bottenfield with the ledendary producer Michael Omartian and his engineer Terry Christian as well as scored and mixed the Indie film The Board directed by Brett Varvel for Varvel Productions and Bethesda Baptist Church.We also recently produced 4 songs for Alyssa Simmons from the Detroit area. She is planning on doing eight more tracks soon and I'm really looking forward to it - she is great!I'm currently working with a band called "FlyOver Country" ( formerly 'Aces Wild'. We are about halfway thru with the project and things are looking great so far. We also have several nice projects planned for this summer that I can't wait to get into.
