"Music is the photo album of the blind"

About Me

krýstL bLü is the Nashville-based studio/stage concept of songwriter/composer/pianist/producer, Shane Almgren. Originally, it was intended to be nothing more than a hobby in between various other musical endeavors which ranged from rock shows in China to sit-in sets at the local dueling pianos bar to Country gigs at the Wild Horse Saloon to dinner music at Merchants Restaurant on Broadway. But what began as a dabbling hobby in electronica - with intentions of settling for selling demo CD's to friends and family - has turned into a profession. Taking a bold leap of faith, kb took his 7-song demo to MIDEM, the International music conference in Cannes, France, without knowing a soul there, what to expect, or how even to proceed once disembarking from the plane. Following an absurd amount of synchronicity and "coincidental" encounters, the necessary introductions quickly presented themselves. There was overwhelmingly positive feedback from major labels of stunning diversity: Germany, Japan, Sweden, Dubai, Italy, and Belgium to name just a few. So for all of you who have been patiently waiting for a self-produced home CD to be available, we have some good news and some bad news for you. The Bad News is that the album, "Creation" - originally planned for a 2007 release - is going to be delayed a bit longer. The Good News is that the 7-song demo is now slated to be a full-length, professional studio album, co-produced by L.A./Las Vegas/West Palm Beach writer/producer extrordinaire, David Chase, and is due out sometime later in 2008. Once finished with the album, a full live band will be assembled for touring purposes, tentatively starting out in Germany, then hopefully soon after that....coming to a city near you. Stay tuned.

The following is a list of my MySpace friends who also have music to share with the world. Many of them you've already heard of, most of them you probably have not. All of them have contributed in their own way to my growth as a musician, whether it be providing creative inspiration, spinning or remixing my songs, or simply providing something fresh to listen to when I tire of hearing my own stuff (which inevitably happens after a 15 hour studio session). For those you've never heard of before, give them a listen and discover all the hidden gems MySpace has to offer.303 infiniti, 5 in 1, A.k. Doing the Work of 40 Men...

I never realized how much work went into getting a record off the ground. I was pretty sure I would just record a few songs, press up a few cd's, and that would be that. As it turns out, I was mista...

TRANCE...it's not just for your ears anymore!

I spent a lot of time thinking about how to do a live show that would be a different experience for the audience than just watching a dj spin on a stage or in a booth. One of my best friends here in ...
