Sisters K are Tinky, Jessica and Laura Kerruish. The three sisters were born into a rock and roll commune in Germany in the '80's. The commune was the Rubber Band - a British Band that was a small cult in Germany - and their families, so music was always a major part of their lives. The girls started doing regular guest performances with the Rubber Band in 1992 and slowly the music evolved away from psychedelic rock and the musicians became a slick backing band for the girls unique brand of soul.
In 1998 sisters K signed a recording contract, the duration of which was spent arguing with the record company about unkept promises. Surprisingly they did manage to release a half-decent maxi on BMG - "I want you back/ Unravelling" - but due to the constant rowing it didn't get pushed and they spent the next three years trying to get out of the contract.
The time since then has been taken up with a lot of gigging in Germany. The band has played all over and has appeared on television on a number of occasions. One of their most enjoyable evenings was a gig with old Welsh hippies "Man", whom the older members of the band had known from earlier days in Wales. Tinky's favourite memory is of the time last year when Jacob Dylan called her onto the stage to sing a song as a guest with the Wallflowers.
Sisters K and Band played a couple of gigs in the South Wales area in the summer of 2000 and are right now planning a longer tour of Britain for 2005.The Band:Emma McLellan – Drums
