Von Dutch is the ultimate lifestyle brand. Forget the fake, band wagon-jumping, haters like quasi-porn-star-bimbo Paris Hilton and her group of lackey friends. Who wants them as representatives of our lifestyle anyways? People like that don't even know what we're all about. Von Dutch was the man, a dude who didn't belive in money, he only believed in art, and the art of experience. He was a machinist who loved to go fast, to push the edge, and to sparke the nerves of his admirers. He was an all-american bad-ass, and his art was nothing short of an exact representation of his ingenius way of life. Von Dutch was really named Kenneth Howard. He was the son of a sign maker, and his dad's shop is where he learned how to paint, eventually perfecting the skill to become the most famous hot-rod pinstriper in the world. If you don't know what pinstriping is, you're a loser. Just playin, a lot of Von Dutch fans don't know. You ever seen a car with flames on the hood? Well that is one form of pinstriping, its just combined with airbrushing and spraying. The pinstripe is what makes the borders look so perfect. It is the "ink that brings it all together, the painter's road map so to speak." The art of pinstriping is a very exciting thing to watch. If you visit one of our flagship locations, you will see some unbelievable examples of some real kick-ass pinstriping and perhaps even catch a live striper doing a peice on site. We started this Kustom Kulture thing when Von Dutch himself started painting cars in the 40's, transforming simple machines into objects of personal expression and individuality. Neon lights, racing pedals, halogen headlights, body kits, performance exhaust, custom meters, NOZ, and thats just the beginning.
