Miss Gray

All of us contain Music & Truth, but most of us can't get it out.

About Me

I'm finally getting my sewing machine out of storage. I found someone to fly kites with. I have a reason to write again. None of the songs that I do write are about unrequited love. I have two functional guitars. I write songs (no longer about unrequited love)with mainly my Martin, Desmond. I still love puppies. And "All Dogs Go To Heaven." And Darkwing Duck. And more than anything, my family. I miss Mr. Warren's Government class. I loathed high school. It feels like a dream...nah...a nightmare. I ignore people who pretend that they play instruments to be cool. I still hate it when the mailman is late. Sean who? Per what? I realized he's suffering from a not-so-rare disease called stupidity. I love to laugh. If you catch me off guard, you'll hear one of four rare laughs. I love the rain. And dancing in the rain. And wringing out my hair after dancing in the rain. Grown ups don't like to dance in the rain, but who needs grown ups? I love sand castles. But not building sand castles. Unless I’m in the companionship of a Master Sand Castle Builder. I love romance. And soft blue eyes gazing into mine. And side smiles that were intended for only me. And holding hands with Him. I fear that I am in love with love. I find that I'm falling more in love with being in love everyday. I enj oy a dd ing e xt ra spa ces w h ere th ey ou ght n ot be . And most importantly, I love to rebel against the constricting restraints set forth by "grammer," and enjoy writing incomplete sentences without structure...in order to annoy my past English teachers. This is my lot in life...It's not a lot...but it's my lot...
On a lighter note (and by "lighter note," I'm am not refering to a "D" note, even though I find them to be light and fluffy and I appreciate how well they go together with A minors), I'm your average 5 ft. 8 in. dork (not that 5 ft. 8 in. dorks are any different than dorks of other heights...I'm just quite proud of my hard earned 68 inches and would like everyone to know that I am 5' 8'' and NOT 5' 05'' like many people assume).
I'm a believer in God and his only son, Jesus Christ. I believe in his unfaltering and eternal love for us. I believe without God there would be no good in this world, he is our only hope. I fail. A lot. At everything. I backslide. I'm not proud of it. But I'm trying. Christ has never left me and I have no reason to think that he ever will.
Verse of The Decade:
"Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also and he praises her, 'Many women have done well, but you excel them all.'" Proverbs 31: 28, 29

I'd like to meet:

I'm content with who I have...

Music:

"We often feel sad in the presence of music without words; and often more than that in the presence of music without music."

I've definitely gone through stages. As a highschooler I loved Relient K, the OC Supertones, the W's, Bleach, Sanctus Real, All-Together Separate, The Swift, All-Star United, Toby mac, The Juliana Theory and FM Static.

I've been completely entralled with Jack Johnson for a little over a year now

My true love, however, is big band and jazz. Frank Sinatra (ah, the Rat Pack...brilliant, really), Vic Damone, Nat King Cole (how could I forget the unforgettable?), Connie Francis, Debbie Reynolds, Harry Connick Jr., John Stevens, The Shirelles all come highly ranked as far as artists go...

Oh, I mustn't forget musical soundtracks...who doesn't love Westside Story, Oliver, and...ahem...Aladdin...Beauty and The Beast...

Movies:

All Disney movies (except the sequels which are always lame, I take that back...Toy Story 2 was pretty funny), and That Thing You Do.

Oh, I couldn't possibly forget Lady in the Water, The Count of Monte Cristo *sigh*, Gladiator, Mystery Men, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, and all the Ernest movies (Ernest Goes to Jail is the best movie ever).

Then there's the usual classical movies: Westside Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Hit the Deck, On the Town, Singing in the Rain, and the Tender Trap. Yeah, I'm sort of a nerd...but nerds are people too.

Television:

I have a deep love for The Adventures of Pete and Pete, which sadly airs no more, and a sick infatuation for Lost...yes, I know, I know...but I'm prepared to face the consequences of my demented decisions.

Books:

"The Girl Scouts Handbook."
"Watership Down"
"Fahrenheit 451"
"Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenence."
"How To Fix Your Broken Radiator."
"Learn to speak in 25 Days."
"The Boy Scouts Handbook."
"I Kissed Dating Goodbye."
"Interior Design for Dummies."
"Potty Train Your Puppy Before He Destroys Your Home."
"The Memoirs of Tiffany Gray."
"Make Up Book Titles Like A Pro."

Heroes:

My Dad for putting food on the table for 7 kids and 21 years and counting.
My Mom for knowing everything and loving me despite her omniscience

My cat, Jasmine. Although she never catches the little red laser dot, she never stops trying...that's perseverance

...and Pi....
