AS LONG AS TODAY is intelligent and emotional rock. Music is commonly defined as an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions through the elements of rhythm, melody, and harmony. AS LONG AS TODAY is more than just music expressing ideas and emotion…AS LONG AS TODAY is four individuals (Derick Hodges, Brandon Furr, Paul Bright, and William Conner) who believe in those ideas and feel those emotions with passion and conviction as they write and perform. They create a strong sense of mood with their use of melody and cadence which reinforces the powerful and profound lyrical content. “It is hypnotic and haunting,†says Craig Streaman from one of the leading independent A&R companies, TAXI. Each song is uncovered, not constructed with an audience in mind. It is not the "radio edits" or the heartless rants we sometimes call music. It is not the slight of hand tricks or the gimmicks of the business man trying to make a dollar. Each song contains real stories, real thoughts, and real feelings. The music is dynamic, progressive, and evolves like we do through human experience. “The listener gets pulled right in,†says Streaman.
In February of 2008, AS LONG AS TODAY celebrated the release of their first full length album. The self-titled album contains seven tracks totaling nearly forty minutes of music. They recorded with Christopher Kincaid at Studio Grey in Charlotte, North Carolina and mastered with Dave Harris at Studio B also in Charlotte, North Carolina. A regular at venues such as Tremont Music Hall, Amos Southend, The Visulite Theater, The Evening Muse, and The Milestone, AS LONG AS TODAY already has a loyal following in Charlotte. They are currently performing and booking regional shows in and around North Carolina quickly building a solid fan base.
