I was born in the Colorado Rockies and raised in a small cabin with plumbing and a natural spring for water. I starting riding horses as a baby and jumped my first fence when I was two. To everyone's surprise I stayed on and I've been riding ever since. To pass the time when I was small I would sit in our front yard and watch ranchers herd their cattle from pasture to pasture, or jump on a dirt bike with my Dad chasing horses and rainbows looking for the pot of god at the end. My Mom taught me to nurture and love animals. She and I raised a baby deer that my Dad rescued from a barbed wire fence. He was so small, he still had his spots we named him Bambi. Bambi was so tame at one point he would take bread from my mouth. Eventually he grew into a young buck and the wild called him home. I’ll never forget it! Then came my baby brother, I was six. I remember going to the hospital to see him for the first time and how it felt to hold him. To this day we are very close and I'm an extremely proud sister. We had cold winters in Eagle, Co and because my parents were sick of the snow we packed up and moved to Texas in 1987. I remember telling my family I wasn’t happy about moving, I didn't want to be a cowboy. Little did I know that I was already a cowboy and I left what I loved behind for the unknown. Our fist stop, a small town south of Houston. My Dad didn't like the high temperature or the humidity not to mention the need for a breeze. We packed up again and my Dad took us to Corpus Christi where he was stationed years before while serving in the Army. This town became my second home. I fell in love with the water and passed the time fishing and swimming with my family. At age ten I started training to sail a Sunfish Sail Boat. It was intense! I remember jumping in the swimming pool every day fully clothed and with shoes on to practice treading water for ten minutes as my Dad sat on the sidelines with his stopwatch. For the tryouts I had to swim two lengths of an Olympic sized swimming pool and barely made it…I was only ten! It is Corpus Christi Bay that reminds me who I am today! I loved being directed by the wind and riding the waves, inevitably next came surfing…more specifically long boarding. As I grew older I continued to ride horses and spent as much time as I could at the beach. Then came King High School and I appropriately became a Mustang. I knew at the first pep rally I attended that I had to be a cheerleader and found a new quest. I loved to spread joy and make people laugh. I met some of the best people I’ll ever know while attending school at King. And all of you, I’ll never forget! At age twenty I headed back to the Houston area to find what I was looking for…my Husband Joseph! We met in Clear Lake on a boat, go figure. I would have never guessed that we would get married six years later on a Yacht near our meeting spot! Joe encouraged me to be a better person and to expect more out of others. After years of bartending and drunken nights, I decided he was right. I had to make a change! I quit drinking and eventually quit serving drinks all together, went back to school to specialize in Real Estate and got licensed in 2004. I became the top producing “Rookie” in my office the following year and I’m still living the dream today. Please stay tuned....
