This page is dedicated to preserving the memory of the band Purge d.i. - The band formed in 1996 in the firey depths of Grams basement in Raymond, NH went on for a decade with great success in the New England area and all areas they were able to touch in that time. The idea originated when guitar player Pete Lanzo and bass player decided to form a 'new' coverband after playing together in various highschool projects. An ad placed in a local music store drew the attention of Everett "Bob" Austin and the three began jamming with Dan Bergeron (now fronting DB7). Soon after Dan left to fulfill other obligations and along came Jay Bellaud. Jay refused to play covers and coaxed the guys into trying the original route. The band Purge was born and took off very quickly. After winning the chance to open for Days of the New during a WGIR Rock 101 Battle of the Bands, the name Purge was all over local airwaves. It was then, that a lesser-known "Purge" contacted the band and ordered them to stop using the name since they owned the rights to it. A frustrated "Purge" took on the name "If Something Comes" for a very short period before deciding on "Purge d.i." following in the footsteps of bands like "Blink 182" and bands faced with the same dilema. The "d.i." came about during a rehersal when the band was brainstorming and Peter saw Randy's bass and "Direct Input" more commonly referred to as a "D.I. Box" and said "D.I." outloud and very nonchalantly the band went with it. The years following brought many gigs with national bands, a spot on the SXSW Expo in Austin Texas and a small tour in the New York area. The band then went through some personnel changes that brought the additions of Keith Cuscia, Bob "JR" Armstrong, Dave French and Nate Dean. The success of the band continued and they drove forward until February of 2006 when they officially disbanded. This page is dedicated to the fans and many, many friends they made along the way.
