The weather is here, wish you were great!

About Me

It was in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge that The Dorks were formed in 1994. Where did the name come from, you ask? No one really remembers or cares...they were fifteen and it sounded punk rock. Starting off as a 3 piece the dorks soon added what would become the biggest influence to the band, lead singer, guitarist, and song writer Andy Hansen. The Dorks were loud and snotty with chaotic drunken stage antics, and off stage antics, that seemed to put them somewhere between, to punk for pop and to pop for punk. Blissfully messy, very catchy, and totally unproffesional.
Over the next 8 years these guys played a shitload of shows, partied their asses off, played with a shitload of cool bands, and recorded lots'n lots of music, which for the most part, has never been released. But they did manage to relesae a split 7", had a cassette "boxset" put out for them, and have been on tons of compilations. In the summer of 99 they released, "Album of the year" split cd with one of Chicago's own, Muchacha, put out on Veronica Records. And finally in the summer of 2001 the Dorks got picked up by Bostons' Man With a Gun Records that released the band's first and only full length album "self titled".
The Dorks are now broken up and have since formed other bands, but still remain close friends.(1994-2002) Pete & Andy formed the band, Penthouse Sweets (Well written rock n roll that will blow your mind). Chris plays drums in Shot Baker (Aggresive punk rock that's been compared to Avail, & Pegboy). And Brendan, well...he put his guitar playing on hold to pursue a carreer in photography and a passion for fishing. And yes...they're all still recovering from the hangover.
