About Me

Batman first appeared in May of 1939 in Detective Comics #27, and although the first true Batmobile did not appear for another two years, it has become one of the Dark Knight's best known weapons.

BatmobileHistory.com chronicles the complete evolution of the car, from it's early days as a simple convertible to the latest movie machines. Over 100 cars are featured in the main chronology, as well as Batmobiles from alternate timelines, fan-made replicas and customs, and an extensive toy archive.

In 2004, the site joined with Batman: Yesterday, Today, and Beyond , the single largest resource for Batman information online. The Batmobile History forums are part of the BYTB site, so feel free to drop by to talk about the Batmobile or anything else Batman-related .

Because it is such a unique source of information, the site has been cited by major newspapers and publications such as The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Detroit News, The Washington Times, and Forbes Auto. It was also chosen as one of the Yahoo! top 25 sites for 2005.

However, the site could not have grown to this level without the help of Batman fans sending in tips, images, and fan-made cars. So if you've got a Batmobile you'd like to share, drop me a line and let me know !
