About Me

HELLO....IT'S ME. Born in Woodruff, SC in 66, raised in Union, SC my whole life (CROSS KEYS) to be exact, on a farm. I started singing with my mom at age 3 by the piano in our music room. That turned into a life time of performing all over the world & I wouldn't change a thing. I'll give you a brief rundown of how I got to where I am now.'72-'80- performed all over South & North Carolina with my family in a gospel, country group. Allen, Kitty & Wendy. The Compton Family recorded 2 records, made a couple of local TV & radio appearances & had a blast doing it.73- recorded first record76- won state talent contest-vocal performance77-recorded 2nd record somewhere in between there & opened for Country Great "ERNEST TUBB" (have the photo to prove it) & a random trivia note... I am a distant cousin to the late Great EDDY ARNOLD on my dads side. 80-85- performed with ASPEN, a local rock cover band from Spartanburg, SC. We did a couple gigs with ARTIMUS PYLE Band (Lynard Skynard drummer) & won every battle of the bands we ever entered. ASPEN (consisting of the entire Powell family) is still together & rockin'. 1986-1991- toured the country with a cover band called JADI playing the old " club circuit" & having a blast. 1988- Lost my dad- R.I.P RICHARD ALLEN COMPTON 1991-1993- Played with The CLUE & "Fade To Black" in Orlando at the old JJ WHISPERS (kick ass club-HUGE stage. Gary Moffat(drums with 38 Special now) was in that band & Tom Smith (Backstreet Boys) was also in the group. 1992- Recorded 2 records with QUIET RIOT at Parc Studios.Did backing vocals on THE RANDY RHOADS YEARS & TERRIFIED albums with the late great KEVIN DUBROW- R.I.P Kevin 1992- Did all bass trax & was TV musician for MICKEY MOUSE CLUB with Musical Director-Michael Egizi (keyboards for Cher,Richard Marx) JC Chasez (NSYNC)was just a kid on that show. 1993 & 94- Moved to Nashville with newcomer KEITH URBAN. We had fun & were very broke at the time, but Keith persevered & I guess you could say he's doing alright now. LOL- Lots of love cunny!! 94- moved back to Florida & did a year with THE IMAGE, back on the road. 94-95 Had a band with LIBERTY DEVITTO, (Billy Joels drummer) called Liberty & Justice". Played some Namm shows & clubs. It was a Killer four-piece. Jammed with Greg Bisonette, Carmine Appice,Jim Capaldi, Claude McKnight, & Steve Winwood. 96-97- Married my SOULMATE.... got into some corporate bands in Orlando & ended up with my own band (with my wife on vocals) called "LISA Z. & FUNHOUSE". If you know what it means to have "IT",... you need to hear Lisa. I gained an amazing daughter MARAH HART- who rocks my world. We still perform as Funhouse for corporate gigs. Early 2000's - was also bass player for the KYLE HENDERSON PROJECT- The PRODUCERS were one of my biggest influenses in High school & it was a blast to perform with Kyle. I also loved the 'WHITE FACE" band he was in before the Producers with Doug Bare who was also in Liberty & Justice. One of our drummer in KHP was CHARLIE MORGAN, the most sought after studio drummer in London in the 80's. He's played on too many hits to list here & recorded with the likes of PAUL McCARTNEY & was with ELTON for 14 years. I have had the opportunity to play "one-offs" with LARRY HOPPEN- voice of ORLEANS (Still The One & Dance With Me) 2000-PRESENT CO-OWNER METROPOLIS PRODUCTIONS We create & produce acts & shows for large corproate events & theme parks. We have a 16K sq. ft. facility with band rehearsal space, dance studios, costume shop & an aerial/acro training gym. We literally do it all under one roof. I work with the most creative & amazing people. My wife is the driving force behind it all. I STILL play bass & sing, every chance I get & I wouldn't change a thing. - My mom still gigs too !!! God Bless to my family & friends who helped me along this journey. Home | Browse | Search | Invite | Film | Mail | Blog | Favorites | Forum | Groups | Events | Videos | Music | Comedy | Classifieds
