I am pretty focused on My Kung Fu lifestyle.
For those who want to know, the previouse is a link to my other page.Every decision depends on its impact on my Kung Fu training.
I have found while learning from other teachers that "impossible" means "I was too lazy to finish the training" and "secret" means "I don't know the skill well enough to teach and the embarresment stops me from telling you that". I also had a Karate Master tell me that he knew everything that was any good and why would his students teach when they could stay a student". I don't know why teaching would stop them from learning but he felt pretty good about that statement.
As such I have made it a personal goal to find the impossible and learn it. I have also made it part of my training program to teach my students everything necessary for a given skill, form, style or level. I find it offensive when core training is omitted because of tournament rules or competition with the teachers ego. I make sure my students have those skills.
Why tell students they know a style when you only give them half? Why teach one style when you say you teach another? On that note I should also say that the phrase "I created my own style that is better than .. etc." really means "I didn't train well enough to impress my teacher so I left and here is my current amount of info."
I train to aquire skill and I use that experience to determine what to train after that. I pass that on to my students at every opportunity.
I try to be as honest as I can be at every opportunity and I put much of my effort into removing my own ignorance. I read when I have the time and train as much as possible. All of my interests revolve around building my physical and mental skills.
