About Me

Growing up with a professional musician for a father, it was inevitable that I would get involved in the music industry somehow. A love for the Motown and Philadelphia International sounds I heard on the radio caused me to delve deeper into black music - and it's a journey I'm still on to this day!I guess at heart I'll always be a soul boy and it was on the Dublin soul scene that I got my first DJ gig - deep in the bowels of the Bankers Pub on Trinity Street, playing rare 60s and 70s soul to a handful of like minded soulies. My connections with the soul scene would lead me to be involved in the running of the short-lived but glorious "Smoove Groove' nights, playing rare 70s to modern-day soul.Everything was about to change when I stumbled upon www.bodytonicmusic.com and became involved in the Dublin-based music collectiive. First-up was a residency at the much-loved "Shoebox Disco", followed by the regular "DiscoTonic" nights in Rogue.Marathon became Snickers, Opal Fruits became Starburst and "Discotonic" became "Scribble" in a bid to distance ourselves from the inevitable (but untrue) Saturday Night Fever association. As a resident at Scribble I've supported such DJs as Greg Wilson, DJ Dexter. Andy Smith and DJ Yoda and played at the Garden Party festival alongside such names as Scratch Perverts, Alexander Robotnick, Booka Shade, Tony Humphries and Carl Craig.Recently, another chapter in my life began when I upped and moved to Galway...here's hoping the change will be as good as a rest!!
