Andre T. Allen Jr. a.k.a. "Yay-High" is a Hip-Hop/R&B/Pop Artist-Songwriter, and Dancer. He was born in Manhattan, New York, and raised in Brooklyn. He was raised by his mother Sheila Payne who held steady jobs, and his stepfather Tony Hayes who worked at a bank in Manhattan. His father wasn't always around, but he knew that he was there when need be. At a young age, Yay-High picked up dancing from watching his mother when she danced and sang in the house. This is where Yay-High got his music influence from. As he grew a little older, his surroundings changed, and he began keeping journal entries of his everyday life, as well as writing poetry. At the age of 11, Yay-High lived in the projects in Brooklyn, New York. Life got rough. There were times were he couldn't walk out his building without him and his family having to fight for their lives. As the negativity picked up, Yay-High fell deeper into poetry. Along with his 3 other siblings, they formed a group called "Naughty Ghetto". The group wrote songs on a day to day basis until 2 of the members where forced to move back on another side of town wit their other family. The group disbanded and turned into a duo. Yay-High and his older sister who went by the name "Ghetto Black Da God" continued the movement. When things got too crazy along the home front, Yay-High and his family relocated out to East New York. From New York. the family made moves and eventually landed in Baltimore County (Maryland). The duo grew apart based on uncontrolled family issues and eventually ran solo. Yay-High met other artist along the way with the same dreams, hopes, and aspirations. He has been in and out of different music groups excessively. Although many of these groups Yay-High left due to uncontrolled circumstances, it didn't stop him from taking what he learned and moving forward. Yay-High used each and every experience he has been through, to better himself not only as an artist, but as a person as well. As of recently, he has recently joined a growing movement called "A.O.N. (All Or Nothing)".He is currently working on some new projects for 2009. Check back for more updates with Yay-High!!!.
