Thanks to Julia and Nicole for starting the "Saxy" phenomenon, and providing the motivation to start up this site! I'll be honest and admit I definitely play better when there are sexy women calling out "Saxy" to me when I play!Live jams... either with other live players or just music I like... and sometimes just cinema of the bizarre can be seen either below or at http://beepdeeply.us/cam/ !
Like a surprising number of sax players, I started out at around age 5 on piano, classically trained, spent a number of years as a professional choral singer as I migrated from Soprano down to Counter-Tenor before my voice changed. Since then, my vocals have been limited to DJing at various NY radio stations, and Radio InfoWeb , voice-overs for television commercials, and videos of various kinds.I've been playing sax and various other brasswinds and woodwinds since Junior High, albeit punctuated by long periods of not playing at all. But why play Sax? I find the Sax lets me express my musical feelings and emotions the best given my own set of skills and experiences. The kind of music I like best (centered around Fusion music) is a mixture of the cerebral, technique, and most important emotion and feeling. My Mom, who was fascinated with my early interest in Fusion, and of course fostered my early experiences as a musician, calls it "Musician's Music".
I am currently playing with International Generation. I also play in Beep Deeply , and I jam with many of the people in the Nyack rock music scene, including folks from Glint, Zero Volume Division, Pat McGrath, and more.
Beep Deeply is the name I'm using to post jams from the Arty and Chris jamspace. I've already set up a MySpace Music site for Beep Deeply, so look for more about it here soon, or go there now and become a friend of Beep Deeply !
