Let's see: I'm a nice guy; I'm not out to do any one any harm. I'm a Christian (though NOT of the Evangelical Right Wing variety), an Episcopalian (i.e. Anglican), a Democrat (for better or worse); I basically consider myself a Cosmopolitan Hick from Arkansas. I was raised on Welfare and Food Stamps ... but most importantly, I was raised on love.I believe in smiles, and lots of laughter, and friendliness. I believe in giving hugs to anyone because everyone needs a hug during the day.I love God. I love Jesus. I love my two kids, Brendan and Caitlin. I love my dog, Whitney. I love my family more and more with every passing second of every passing hour of every passing day.I love my friends. I love being alive. I love those who have passed on but who still live on in me (Thank you, Granny).I love this wide, wonderful, scary, confusing, terrifying, exhilirating world of wonders we live in.
I loathe arrogance, elitism, racism, intolerance, intellectual snobbery, hatred, ignorance, egotism, self-righteousness, zealotry, and fanaticism. I loathe it even more when I see each of these in myself.I'm not one for dogma or doctrine. I believe in myth. I believe in ritual and liturgy. I believe God will not be reduced to an ideology or be forced into any kind of box. I also believe that the most dogmatic individual is also the most insecure individual. But most of all, I know that there is indeed a God, that God loves me, and that God will take care of me and my family.
I guess I'm basically a VERY messy Christian, a recovering sinner, and I'm definitely not a saint but the Divine loves me anyway...just as I am...All in all, I'm just a human being.... standing in awe of it all.
