Sans Frontieres Recordings is a new label. We are into the art, beauty and power of hip hop and her many offspring, siblings, affiliates and dodgy uncles.
The label was started by Sten King (aka earthboundboy ) in 2006. Our aim is to shun the traditional label structures that screw the artists and instead grow a strong independent organisation to create and promote intelligent, creative, progressive music.
We are rooted in the golden age of 12 bit samplers, cheap equipment and raw ideas, the time when hip hop was about the music and the culture, the attitude. We are interested in how hip hop might have sounded today had it not been perverted by the money men. Had it been allowed to develop as an artform, not a commodity. We aim to bring you this sound.
