About Me

..Born in Manhattan, NY raised in Jamaica, Yendi’s foundation was rooted at age four listening to the sweet sounds of Teddy Pendergrass, legend Bob Marley and the Wailers, Etta James, Michael Jackson, and many more. She attended Edna Manley Performing Arts School in Kingston where she was trained music appreciation, orchestra, acting, dance, and art . Her mother was determined to move her to the U.S. with hopes of her attending Juliard Performing Arts School. As a young girl the neighbors would perform for guests at local events and parties. She was a natural and there was no question. At age twelve Yendi joined a gospel group in Philadelphia, then later left the group and moved back to Florida. Then was signed to Luke Records in the trio group, “1-305” in Miami, Fl with label mates Trick Daddy and No Good But So Good. Unfortunately due to label issues and legal matters the group ended in 1997, and at age 17 Yendi made moves on her own to fulfill her dreams as a performer and songwriter. She was still determined skipping school and doing performances, there was no doubt in her mind that she was destined. Yendi and her mother then had financial struggles that changed their lives drastically leaving them homeless. In 2000, Yendi then started traveling doing shows and meeting with executives in New York for that next “big break”. All on her own Yendi started to learn the true struggles of being an unknown artist, but she used that as a tool to improve her understandings. In 2002, Yendi then did a duo with artist, Drag On of Ruff Ryder’s and in 2002 did a record with Manny Fresh from Cashmoney. Yendi spent the rest of her years developing her talent by performing, writing on mix tape instrumentals, and developing other artist. She has worked with many known artist such as Casely of Jive Records, beat bangers Cool & Dre of Epidemic Records, No Good But So Good, Trick Daddy of Slip & Slide Records, Git Fresh of Island Records, and many more.Yendi graduated from the Art Institute in December of 2007 with an associate in Broadcasting, with music production experience. Yendi’s passion is to use all her talents to achieve all that she can in the entertainment industry. Acting? She got it! Singing? She definitely got it! Her dream of ending her career as a humanitarian and motivational speaker show’ that there is much more to her than music. Music is the gateway for Yendi to make a difference in the world.----------------- MYFLYPROFILE.NET
