"Steele Blackthorn" was a nick-name given to me by one of my best friends in high school and it has just stuck with me ever since... With over 250 songs written over the last couple of decades... I am a singer songwriter of what I like to think of as the old school... I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and the piano (keyboards) for 10 or so... I am also able to play the drums, bass, mandolin, and a couple of other instruments... I am self taught both as a musician and a songwriter... I have never had a lesson at all... And yet for some reason I am able to read and sort of write sheet music and play... Don't get me wrong... I didn't wake up one morning and BAM I could play... I have lived and loved music of all forms my whole life.... And not being content to just listen... I needed to find a way to make my own... So I practice and pratice and pratice.... I write about life... Loves and Losses... Joys and Pains... Victories and Defeats... I am my songs and music and they are me... My greatest hope is not to become famous or rich... I am happy to make a living in music... My truly greatest desire is to reach as many people with my music as possible... And to hear what it made them feel... If it touched them in any way... Or offered some kind of comfort or direction... or hope... I am always amazed and gobsmacked at a show when someone... I have never met or seen before comes up to me... in between sets... and tells me how much they liked a particular song or a specific part of a gig...
