First I heard the British R&B Groups like the Yardbirds, Animals, Spencer Davis Group, Pretty Things, early Stones, early Beatles, who all led me to their roots:
from Robert Johnson to Ray Charles.
I started a Rhythm & Blues Group myself, playing the piano and singing.
Then came a second wave of influence while hearing John Coltrane and his
classic Quartet, Miles Davis and his 60s Quintet and then Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock,Chick Corea and Joe Zawinul.
In the 70s I joined a Jazz-Rock-Unit at the keyboards and toured whole Germany.
Then I got a call from well-known german saxofonist Klaus Doldinger to join his
Jazz-Rock Group PASSPORT. With this band I recorded 5 Albums (including
"Live at Montreux") and made tours through Europe and the U.S.A..
After this period I liked to make more song-oriented music and was happy to join
german legend Udo Lindenberg and his group, the PANIKORCHESTER.
We made A LOT of records and went to many countries, U.S.S.R and China among them.
I started to compose songs, and until today I have ca. 30 songs with Udo on records. In the 90s I learned producing records for him and until today its
plain fun !
With guitarist and friend Guenter Haas I started a Chill-Music Group, open to
many guests, and it develops nicely. The project is named CINEMASCOPE, and
the second (more exotic) album is in the works...
