About Me

"the obscure minds" originally was a (most of the time) three piece punk rock outfit from Bamberg (i.e. Beercity), Bavaria, Germany in the late 1980s. The band disbanded in 1992.
While my former mates stopped their musical ambitions completely, I joined a few others to form the "subzero topdogs", with which I stayed until 1998.
Three years on I got involved in a sinister project, called "the vampire lesbians of sodom". This band still exists. If you are also into punk and garage rock, check them out at Vampire Lesbians Of Sodom !
When we recorded our material, we came up with a few songs, which did not fit very well into the context of raw, riff driven, easy-to-play-drunk rock'n'roll, so I got interested in writing moody, personal songs again.
Here are the first premature results!
Instruments used:
Ibanez Les Paul
Shadow and Fernandes Guitars
Stairville Bass
Korg Mono/Poly
Emax (two or three of the disks still do work)
Yamaha SK20
Credits:
Thanx to
- Jimmy for lending his hard disk recorder and Emax to me
- Frisbee Maul for programming drums
- Jimmy, Blacky, Andi, LX for recording/mixing "getting sober"
- Ardbeg, Laphroaig, Talisker, Bowmore, Glenlivet for a certain mood
- Wagner Bräu und Huppendorfer for relieving the hardest pain of all
- Andi for the concrete "kachel"

Minor song updates

Two weeks ago I saved a Yamaha SK20 from being scrapped. I tested it by adding organs to "realm" and "catherine". I also reworked the vocals for the latter.
