Semi-Professional Rant:
I'm a phd student setting out to do 12-18 months research on the Hip Hop scenes in adelaide and melbourne. I aim to write an accurate, interesting and relevant account of the roles that Hip Hop plays in people's lives. By relevant I mean, relevant to the people who are actively involved in making Hip Hop culture, not just an academic audience.
My study is geared towards the musical aspects of Hip Hop, although I'll be looking at all four elements. (Five counting beat-boxing... and maybe more depending on who you ask).
I'm interested in all the practical details of Hip Hop production and consumption and in speaking to anyone involved in Hip Hop - from the avid listener to the bedroom DJ to the recorded artist.

Random Rant:
I love getting mail (apart from bills).. junk mail rocks my world.
I can't stand it when we run out of milk (or coffee).
I can't read and listen to music at the same time unless it's very ambient stuff (who said women can multi-task?).
I say 'we' all the time without specifying that I'm talking and Adam and I - no I'm not insane and referring to the other voices in my head.
I hate most domestic chores but love it when the house is spotless.
I think Huey's Cooking Adventures is a terrible show.
Sometimes I buy books I never read.
I like owning things.
I am prone to getting bored and rambling about my likes and dislikes on myspace....
