About Me

Hey i'm Junior. i'm a proud samoan, take my music & films very seriously. music wise, im really into my indie/underground & foreign artist particularly in the genres of hip hop, J Pop (japanese music), neo soul & alternative rock. don't mind the house music either, just not too much of it. i don't judge others, unless they judge me of course (which happens to me a lot lol). i'm obsessed with cinematography in films & as with my music prefer the indie & foreign films over hollywood anytime, but i will watch any film just so i can say how much i hated/loved it. I don't like people who talk too much or take forever to get to a point, that shit really gets on my nerves lol I don't dress the way i do because i'm a "gangsta" only because i grew up with this style & i'm not gonna change for anyone but myself. I don't smoke or take any drugs (& never will while i'm still breathing), but i do drink lol i'm a happy drunk not a violent drunk so thats ok i guess...Um & yea thats about it :)

Music:

TERIYAKI BOYS (JAPAN) - Popular J-Rap group headed by one of my fave Japanese artist, VERBAL (who is also a member of the equally awesome J-Rap duo M-FLO) I'm defenitely looking forward to their new album after hearing their singles "Zock On" which was produced by the Neptunes & features both Pharrell Williams & Busta Rhymes & their previous single "I Still Love H.E.R." which is produced & features the one & only Kanye West.BIG BANG (KOREA) - One of the biggest K-Rap boy bands at the moment, heard a lot of great things about these guys so decided to check their songs out. I admit i was extremely impressed. Especially by their group leader G-Dragon, who produces, writes, choreographs, sings & raps on all their songs. They are also close alumni's of Korean mega star Se7en (who G-Dragon has choreographed, produced & written for) I hear their concert is incredible so i'm gonna download it lol

Movies:

NIGHTMARE DETECTIVE (JAPAN 2007) - Shinya Tsukamoto is one of my all time fave directors :) so i was eager to check out his latest work (the sequel is released in Japan this July) & once again he has made a tense, scary, blood soaked thrill ride that goes where you least expect it to. Also worthy of noting is that the super hot J-Pop singer HITOMI makes her acting debut here & really shines. The best performance by far is by the director himself lol who has a terrific role. Overall one of the best & original horror films i've seen. With the brilliantly creepy "Retribution" & this under japans belt, it looks like their reign in the horror genre will return sooner than later :)

Books:

Starting to read the highly regarded "Into The Wild" novel. I saw the film a few weeks back & I am proud to say its the most beautiful film i've ever seen :) So i had to check the book out on the strength of the amazing film.
