BIOGRAPHY:
Alessandro 'urmuz' Vagnoni
[Porto San Giorgio 1980]
Nel 1994 ha militato nella band Diserzione (rap-metal, materiale crossover influenzato da Rage Against The Machine, Downset, Biohazard, Strife, Sistema Informativo Massificato e molte altre band di quella fiorente epoca). Il suo primo demo con questa band fu auto-prodotto e registrato nel 1995. Altri demo a nome Diserzione furono registrati nel 1997 e nel 1998 ("J'accuse"), anno del loro scioglimento.

Nel 2000 si iscrive al corso di pittura dell'Accademia di Belle Arti di Perugia, cattedra del maestro umbro Sauro Cardinali e nello stesso anno si unisce al progetto pop-rock Hedisma , con Janos Murri (chitarrista già nella death-metal band Resurrecturis), Manuel Coccia (basso e tastiere) e Simona Bocci (voce). Due promo furono registrati nel 2000 e nel 2002. Dopo una serie di temporanei scioglimenti la band cessa definitivamente ogni attività nel 2003.

Il 2001 è un anno prolifico, durante il quale Urmuz fonda con Manuel e Mholok (chitarra) la band Paraphernalia , includendo poi nella line-up Manuele Marani (chitarra) e Janos Murri nel ruolo di vocalist. Nell'inverno dello stesso anno Manuel e Janos abbandonano la band.

Nel 2002 si unisce alla band Resurrecturis per un paio di concerti. Nello stesso anno è con i Priority , un side project di Janos Murri.
Nel 2003, durante le sessioni di registrazione di Human Maggots and Fashionable Roaches, inizia l'"avventura" Mholok (un progetto jazz-rock).

Nel 2004 appare come sessionist per la band thrash-metal Hatred di Angelo Marani e Riccardo Macrillante ed in Aprile si unisce alla band Infernal Poetry .

Nel 2005 si diploma all'Accademia di Belle Arti con una tesi sulle categorie della pittura ed in particolare sul lavoro di Gerhard Richter e Mario Sironi.
Inizia insieme a Manuel Coccia a scrivere materiale per l'esperimento pop Toxin e successivamente intraprende da solo il progetto Urmuz, legato alle sonorità dei Residents.
Nello stesso anno è reclutato da Le Grevidanze, un progetto easy-listening (nel quale Manuele Marani è al contrabbasso) ed ancora una volta dai Resurrecturis per il loro Tour Europeo a supporto dei Vital Remains (USA).

Nel 2006 prende parte con gli Infernal Poetry al tour europeo dei Dismember, assieme alle band Debauchery e Requiem.
Dopo un paio di mesi si unisce ai Resurrecturis per un altro tour europeo stavolta al fianco dei finnici Impaled Nazarene.

Con gli Infernal Poetry ha suonato all’edizione 2006 del Gods of Metal, band che ha recentemente licenziato per la Red Skies Society un EP dal titolo Nervous System Checking che preluderà ad un full-lenght album (Nervous System Failure) atteso per il prossimo anno.

Collabora col chitarrista marchigiano Walter Pignotti , nel Pigjazz Trio (assieme a Manuele Marani al contrabbasso) e al progetto "Little City" (Elmar Schafer ai sax e Ludovico Carmenati al basso elettrico), col quale ha registrato (al Bob Studio di Fermo) nel Maggio 2007 un disco di prossima pubblicazione. In 1994 he's in a band called Diserzione (rap-metal, crossover stuff influenced by Rage Against The Machine, Downset, Biohazard, Strife, Sistema Informativo Massificato and many other bands of that flourishing epoch). His first demo with this band was self-produced and recorded in 1995. Other demo-tapes of Diserzione were recorded in 1997 and in 1998 ('j'accuse'), the same year of their split.

In 2000 he begins to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Peruse, attending the painting course of the umbrian artist Sauro Cardinali and in the same year he joins the pop-rock project Hedisma , with Janos Murri (guitar player in the death-metal band Resurrecturis), Manuel Coccia (bass and keyboards) and Simona Bocci (vocals). Two promos were recorded in 2000 and in 2002. After a series of temporary splits in 2003 the band definitely broke up.

2001 is a proficient year, in which Urmuz founded with Manuel and Mholok (guitar) the band Paraphernalia , including in the line-up Manuele Marani (guitar) and Janos Murri as a vocalist. During the winter of that year Manuel and Janos left the band.

In 2002 he's in the band Resurrecturis for two gigs. In the same year he joins the band Priority , a side project of Janos Murri. In 2003, during the recording sessions of Human Maggots & Fashionable Roaches, Mholok "adventure" starts (a jazz-rock project).

In 2004 he appears as a session musician for the thrash-metal band Hatred of Angelo Marani and Riccardo Macrillante and in April he joins the band Infernal Poetry .

In 2005 he graduates at the Academy of Fine Arts with a thesis 'bout Painting categories and in particular concerning the work of Gerhard Richter and Mario Sironi.

With Manuel Coccia begins to write material for the Toxin pop experiment and successively he undertakes the Urmuz project as a soloist, influenced by the Residents sound. In the same year he's recruited by Le Grevidanze, an easy listening project (in which Manuele Marani plays the upright) and once again by Resurrecturis guys for their European Tour supporting Vital Remains (USA).

In 2006 he partakes with Infernal Poetry in the Dismember European tour with the bands Debauchery and Requiem.
After a couple of months he joins Resurrecturis as sessionist for their nth european tour supporting finnish band Impaled Nazarene.

With Infernal Poetry he played at Gods of Metal 2006 edition. This band have recently released the Nervous System Checking EP (Red Skies Society), anticipating the upcoming full-lenght album (Nervous System Failure) scheduled for the nex year.

He's collaborating with the guitarist Walter Pignotti for Pigjazz Trio (MAnuele Marani on upright) and the project "Little City" (Elmar Schafer on saxes and Ludovico Carmenati on electric bass), recording an album (@ Bob Studios, Fermo) on May 2007. For infos please visit the link.
