It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept.

About Me

Who am I? Isn't that a question we all ponder? I mean really, I assume that everyone spends most of their time thinking about me and who I am....guys, are you still there? Seriously, I like to think I am a quixotically quirky girl with a passion for books, shoes and all things sparkly. Or you could just think of me as the
Yes, I'm a dork but I have a British genius as my friend. What have you got?

I'd like to meet:

Friends: Here's the thing...I have plenty of people to spend time with and while I like meeting new people, my life is already full of amazing, talented, smart, quirky (and sometimes downright silly) friends that I can count on. I am not looking to fill a void, just enrich my life by getting to know passionate people doing interesting things with their lives.

Guys: I have a soul mate out there somewhere. I am pretty sure he is at least a little bit on the liberal side, gets a kick out of sarcastic humor, loves books, live music, travel, and will think I am wonderful even after he finds out about my less charming quirks. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

Networking: I love my job and I am really good at it. I passionately believe in freedom of speech, equal access to information for everyone and literature being capable of transforming lives. I love meeting other people who also love their jobs and are fighting the good fight for what they believe in.

Movies:

I believe that Monty Python provides the only truly great socio-political commentary of our age but my life most closely resembles The Money Pit. I like anything with obvious humor. Oh, and I also love the really clever ones. The question is, do I know the difference?

Television:

God, I miss TV! The mind numbing power of it. Why, oh why, can't I have TV in my world?

Books:

Just a few of my favorite things...

And Then There Were None/Christie, American Gods/Gaiman, As I Lay Dying/Faulkner, Bellweather/Willis, Black Swan Green/Mitchell, Cat's Cradle/Vonnegut, Ceremony/Silko, Crocodile In The Sandbank/Peters, The Handmaid's Tale/Atwood, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone/Rowling, Kafka On The Shore/Murakami, Lamb: The Gospel According To Biff Christ's Childhood Friend/Moore, Letters To A Young Poet/Rilke, Magic For Beginners/Link, M.Y.T.H Inc./Asprin, Oryx And Crake/Atwood, Pride and Prejudice/Austen, The Road/McCarthy, Siddhartha/Hesse, Small Wonder: Essays/Kingsolver, Three Men in a Boat/Jerome K Jerome, A Thousand Miles Up The Nile/Edwards, To Kill A Mockingbird/Lee, To Say Nothing Of The Dog/Willis, The Weather Makers/Flannery, Year of Magical Thinking/DibonTo find out more, ask me about my other blog.
