My service, READY FOR THE ROW , is for songwriters whose goal is to get songs recorded in the major label Country market, either as artists or writers. PLAY FOR PUBLISHER WORKSHOPS: a year I host a Play For Publishers workshop here in Nashville. Any writer with a desire to write for the commercial Country market is invited to apply. Fifteen are selected to attend the event, which runs Thursday through Saturday. Six established, successful publishers attend and, in front of the group, listen to a song from each writer and give feedback. There is also an intensive class in the elements of commercial songwriting, a show with hit songwriters at the Bluebird Café and a chance to perform at a Nashville writers night. The application fee is $10 and for those selected the fee is $275. (Financial assistance available.) CRITIQUES AND CONSULTATION: I can listen to your songs and give in-depth feedback on their craft and commercial potential. I can answer questions about the Nashville music business and help you devise strategies for your own career. For critiques the fee is $30 per song. Consultation is $60 per hour.
