RONA RAY

Rona Ray (a real name is Veronika Skorokhod) is an 18-years-old soul/jazz/lounge singer-songwriter from Kaliningrad. She sings since she was 4. Her greatest influences always were Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Brian McKnight, Aretha Franklin, Incognito, Alicia Keys, Joss Stone, Whitney Houston. She never had someone to teach her singing - all that she did is just listening to her favorite singers and trying to learn from them. All her childhood she spent participating in singing contests. From all her awards she's especially proud of the second prize at "Baby Sing Jazz" contest in Lithuania and the 1st prize at Russian Competition Of Arts for young people "Studencheskaya vesna" for self-written song "Don't Give Up". Also she got a President's Premium for support of Talented Youth in 2008. Now she's trying to realize her own project working as a soloist of U. Tverdov's Kaliningrad Jazz Band at the same time.
