About Me

..Louis Kiefer as Subliminal Hit, I was heavily influenced by music as a child, started learning music at age 6, with the piano. I like jammin on my guitar alot, and I still love playing instruments. With Subliminal Hit I take what i learned and i apply it towards computer generated music. It's all made from my PC, my mind, my soul, and a few programs. I write synth/piano/organ/etc. loops in FL 9.0 and mix it up in ACID 6.0, then i fiddle with SoundForge 7.0 for further loop editing or song editing. I'd love to incorporate more software collaboration the more the merrier, I love to warp the sound. To tell you the truth my dream instrument is the Eigenharp, look it up, and once i get my hands on one I'm gonna explode.
Spring of 2005 is when i first started dabbling around with mixing on the computer. I really think it'd be awesome to expand my equipment and take this music into more of a live direction someday, but at this point in time the music is more or less just composed, then mastered, and saved as is. So maybe that's what really holds me back as far as getting my name out there, but to me being a musician is alot more about uncovering new ways of manipulating sound through as many different avenues as possible. My general philosophy is that anything can be used in a musical context, you can go beat a stick on a sidewalk and create a song. A pulse means life, and that pulse is a beat.
My playlist: i random cycle, mostly my newer projects but i'll throw some of my older stuff on there too.... sorry i don't do downloads, it's just the fact that this is not popular music, and Im not doin it to get popular, im throwin this up to enjoy and listen, however if you wanted a cd I will give you one, just message me.
This is my way of dipping my hands in the experimentation of music with the modern technique. Digital music is fun to create and you use your heart and soul to create it just like instrumental music. Of course it's also nice to have a good head on your shoulders about music first of all. Like i said, I did have conventional/traditional training as a young one, I still do apply it, however, to a point I have strayed from that, and then basically created my own little system based on what i have learned. Like I mentioned, for this computer style mixing, the process for creation is less like playing the music live (even tho i do actually play most of the synth melodies while recording and then I mix it in later), but rather it's alot more like composing.
Music is a beautiful artform, and thus it should remain. Either way, it's modern music, and hopefully most people find the music I am putting out here a fresh and interesting approach to this world full of music.
