About Me

Osagyefo, a.k.a. Ragga, lives in a small fishermans village (Kokrobite) West of Ghanaians capital city Accra. He performs a lot and plays with different bands because reggae music is his everything.

He left his parents after finishing high school at the age 19 to the city of Accra, Ghana's capital city. He started his career with the name Ragga, which he got from his friends. In 1995 he formed the band Militant Youth with a DJ named Jah Youth, who is now in France. The band has been one of the top bands during rasta festivities in Ghana. Osagyefo worked with some top bands like The Sons of Zion, The Zion Children and currently with the All Star Crew.

The second annual celebration of the life and spirit of Bob Marley, 'Africa Unite', took place in Ghana, West Africa in February 2006. Osagyefo was one of the few Ghanaian artists that could perform with the Marley Family on both shows (Kumasi and Accra). Culture, five Marley brothers, Ziggy, Kimani, Damian, Julian and Steve, Chakademus and Pliers, The I-Threes, Steel Pulse, The Tamlins, Dean Frazer and Bongo Herman, along with the C Sharp backing band, were the Jamaicans who performed there. Among the Ghanaians who performed were Mz. Bell, Batman VIP and the Megastar Band.

In August 2006 Black Star Foundation invited this talented artist to come to the Netherlands for 1 month. Osagyefo did 12 shows in different venues (Paradiso, Bitterzoet, Blijburg, Paard, LVC, etc.). He played and performed with bands like Smiley, Orange Grove and Brother Marcus & The Irie Connection and he played with different Soundsystems like Black Star Sound, Covenant Sound System and King Shiloh Sound System.

During his stay in the Netherlands, he met a lot of different musicians, like Bambu Station & Ras Iba (Virgin Islands). Osagyefo performed 5 times with them and he ended up in the recording studio with producer and multi-instrumentalist Tuff Lion (guitar player for Bambu Station). Together they made 6 songs in only 1 day.

In total, Osagyefo recorded more than 14 reggae and dancehall songs in 7 studio days. Black Star Foundation's producer and sound engineer Asher E has mixed all the studio recording we made with Osagyefo into the album 'Blaze Fire'.

The album "Blaze Fire" and the single "Hotter, Fire Blaze" have been released 8-8-2007 at the Bitterzoet club in Amsterdam and both are for sale right now!
