About Me
Ursula was born in Waterford, Ireland and comes from a German background.She trained at W.I.T in music for 7 years and also trained for a two year National Diploma in Dance and Theatre Studies at The College of Dance, Dublin.She is a singer/songwriter and recording artist for companies such as Avondale Studios, Dublin and McBone Music, New York. Ursula also worked on a compilation album for French Artist JMZ which was released internationally this year. Her theatre credits include the part of Maria in West Side Story, Eileen Boyle in the World Premier of Seagulls Dance, Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar (Waterford International Festival of Light Opera 2002), Polly Brown in The Boyfriend, Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, Katie Brown in Calamity Jane, Polly Baker in Crazy for You, Mrs. Luce in Little Shop of Horror’s, Diana in A Chorus Line among others. She has also performed with Opera Ireland in ‘Aida’ (Gaiety Theatre) and has been lead singer on the Irish music scene over the past 10 years in bands such as Fresh, Catwalk, Johnnie-Be-Goode, Abba’salutely Classic Motown,Boogie Wonderland and her latest project ABBA-Super Troupers and Twist&Shout.
She has performed as a soloist throughout Ireland in many concerts, tribute shows, choral festivals, operas and is a versatile performer. She has danced for companies including Wella - Vicar Street, Dublin and also had the opportunity to dance with Wayne Sleep in Trinity College and Michael Foley in New York.Ursula’s voice appeared in various national and international commercials including Stephens Green Shopping Centre, Renault, Seagulls Dance the Musical and Cox Communications Network, New York. She can also be heard singing on many albums from Irish and English artists and has had the pleasure of working in studio with David Hayes, Lar Scally, Davy Spillane, Seamus Brett, Fionan de Barra, JMZ in France and Kev Orkian in London.Ursula has been the Musical Director for Livewire Theatre company, for the past 6 years Performing in the Rupert Guinness Theatre and Olympia Theatre, Dublin. She is also a director and co-founder of the recently opened Vox Music School working along side Liz Madden.She has also appeared in theatres across England which includes Drury Lane, Manchester Opera House and The Palace in a specially commissioned Masterclass playing the part of Cosette in Les Miserable. She most recently played the part of Consuela in Jim Molloys Production of West Side Story at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin and appeared on stage at the Point Theatre with Josh Groban on his 2007 World Tour. Ursula is currently working on her debut solo album which will be released next year, 2008 by Faustina Features.
