I could tell here as all the other guys the usual stuff, that I played with the best DJ's in the world, that I've been doing this since I was 12 but I would be lying. In fact my interest for electronic music is quite recent and somewhat unexpected.
My first nights out to nightclubs started at the age of 16 I guess, and the noise kind of confused me, the sound was always too loud and I loved my bed too much to stay awake at those late hours. So in the beginning it was a bit tough to get used to all of that night life here in Lisbon. But later on, when I started attending those clubs more often, the DJ role in the club made me curious. The music was so mathematic and contagious... I spent too many hours wondering how those guys could make so many musics seem to be an endless one. So basically, my initial fascination was all those buttons in the DJ booth (ahah). By then I met a guy who was a DJ in a bar here in Lisbon and started asking him a lot of questions related to that strange activity, so that one day I ended up going to his place. He had his own home studio. I had never been so close to all those strange machines that mixed music... All those discs, gear, sound system, from the slipmats to the speakers… stunning stuff! He, then, started to give me some sort of lessons, where I had my first experiments (rarely successfully in the beginning) to beatmatch. But guess what, practice was worth it and a few weeks later I was all over it! I started saving some money to buy my own stuff, as well as my very own vinyl records, which I learned to love and respect their producers. At first I heard mostly those tribal..progressive sounds that were kind of a trend back then but later, electro house fascinated me and it is pretty much what I enjoy the most right now. Along with some progressive of course!
It didn't take me long to make a few contacts and start gigging around the city, where I met some pretty spectacular people who were willing to help and share their knowledge. Thanks to them I grew as a musician and as a person. So that was pretty much the final step to change my point of view towards music. It is just... contagious! But after a while, and as a curious person that I consider to be, the music production started to grow in my mind. I wanted to create my own sounds, transmit what I felt through music. But… My god! I never thought it could be so difficult… and fulfilling! It's been like that two years now and I still feel that I've got so damn much to learn… Anyway, it has been really worthy and this is my long story short! I sincerely hope that you enjoy my music.
