Fonops (Looking for a Label)

The band was created in the end of the year 2000, during the stagnant days of local alternative metal freaks Braindamage, by Mystik along with both Turianica brothers. After their demise,the band has started to write some songs and perform them instrumentaly live as a trio. But it took long 4 years,when they found a new vocalist Juraj, who was known as a member of local death/doomsters The Bleeding. He joined the band in last week of July 2004 and become indefinitely a new member. Some days later in August,Fonops recorded their first rehearsal tape, simply entitled as "Storm",it was recorded only for their own and it contains five instrumental tracks. Month later they were asked by members from Wayd to join them with Sardonic (from Germany), on their mini tour in Slovakia. During this tour the band has recorded another tape called "Live Hauntings", it was recorded for their own and it was spread merely among their friends. This tape contains six tracks and one bonus track.

In the middle of the year 2006 the band has decided to record their first debut album. And so they asked Erik Wittner & Roland Wittner (from Gagas). During June & July 2006,the band went to studio "GAGAS" to record their first full-length release. It contains nine tracks and is called "Illumination". After that,they wanted to do some promotion for this album. But some months later they've cancelled it and decided to remaster it again. So they asked Roman Soltys (ex-member from Decay) to do this in his own studio "KLAKSON",and he agreed. All works were done in last weeks of December 2006,few days before christmas. Until these days Fonops has succesfully performed many live shows not only in their hometown Presov, but also outsides. Nowadays both members (Mystik & Juraj) are also members in local death metal band called Perversity.

Members of FONOPS also organizing live shows in their hometown, under the name FONOPSIA FEST. FONOPS were also reviewed in following webzines and magazines:Voices From The Darside, Vampire Magazine, SPARK Rockovy Magazin 5/2007, Necroscope zine 17, Atmospheric Magazine, Metal Breath zine 50/2008.
