Pastor Andrea Trusty King was born in Oberlin, Ohio, but spent most of her childhood in Cleveland and Columbus, OH. She is the first child of Pastor David and Ms. Juanita Trusty. She accepted Christ at an early age and has been preaching the Gospel since she was fourteen years old. She attended Oakwood College, where she was a Chaplain’s Assistant in the Office of Spiritual Life. She was an active member and the first female president of Willing, Succeeding, and Black, Inc., a creative arts and community service organization. She also was the recipient of the Mosley-Warren Homiletics Award, awarded for excellence in preaching. In 1999, Pastor King graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in both Ministerial Theology and Communications. In June of that same year, she wed Pastor Kurt King, in Columbus, OH. They are the proud parents of two children, Lauryn and Jonathan King. In 2001, Pastor Andrea King earned her Masters of Divinity from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University in Berrien Springs Michigan. While at the Seminary, she and her husband served as Associate Pastors at the Highland Seventh-day Adventist Church in Benton Harbor, MI. They continue their ministry together as they co-pastor the Maranatha SDA Church in San Diego. Prior to that she served as the Associate and Interim Senior Pastor of the Thirty-first Street Seventh-day Adventist Church in San Diego, CA. She currently serves as the vice president and co-founder of Brighter Hope Ministries, Inc. Brighter Hope began broadcasting its first radio program in March of 2002, but has expanded to print and web ministries, also. Pastor King is a writer for the Real-Time Faith and Cornerstone Connections Sabbath School Lessons and has also written for Guide Magazine. Her hobbies include drama, writing, and scrapbooking. She loves the art of communication and has worked in radio for almost six years and has also interned at Black Entertainment Television (BET) in Washington, D.C. Pastor Andrea King is also an acclaimed speaker who has spoken throughout the United States from California to New York, from Michigan to Florida. She has also spoken in Canada, Bermuda, Antigua, Uganda, and Nigeria. She has done several seminars on various topics including: Forgiveness and Reconciliation, Spiritual Gifts, Prayer, Sexual Purity for teens and Marriage and Family Issues. She has received many awards but the one she is most proud of is the award of grace and salvation through Jesus Christ...
