George is the proprietor of the acclaimed Shakespeare and Co. bookstore in Paris, and is a former contemporary of such Beat poets as Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. Find more on Whitman in my Blog.

My Interests

Art. Enjoy American Impressionists, such as Edmond Tarbell, Frank W. Benson,Childe Hassam. Also their successors, including Edward Hopper and Marsden Hartley. Current Portsmouth Artists include Kate Doyle. Cape Cod, I enjoy Vincent Amicosante and Tracy Harmon-Hayes, and many of the artists at the Berta Walker Gallery, particulary Nancy Whorf and Paul Resika. Irish Art is an interest, particularly Brian Ferran.

I'd like to meet:

Vibrant, interesting, exciting people who are successful in their field. Creative people. Nice people. Energetic people like my friend Wayne Nelson who turns XXX on Thursday.
