About Me

Mark Rothman, aka, Marker, has been slinging a guitar with reckless abandon for many years. As a child, he fell under the influence of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and the Ventures. He struggled through Paul Simon and The Eagles while in high school, and then wallowed in Buffett and the Blues in college. After an early, and brief, stint as a Singer/Songwriter in the late 80's, he went into happy seclusion to be a husband and father. During this time period, Roy Houseman knocked him over the head and dragged him to the Burning Bush Studio in Florida. There he spent nearly three years laying down rhythm guitar and vocals with Burning Bush.Lately, his body has been seen roving an Illinois State Park as an outdoor educator during the school year and roaming the residence halls of the National Guitar Workshop on summer nights.Mark has recently gone through some life changes. He is still dad, but has moved to his own digs. He is actively writing new material for and with his band members in Outpatience. They are working toward putting an EP together later in the year. Busy 2009 ahead!
