MANIPULATION

A powerful machinery consists of hard, rough electronic beats of that industrial age, but of dark atmospheric and melancholy melodies too thats the sound of MANIPULATION! In 1993 Andreas Steckmann (Programming, Vocals, Lyrics) met FranKey (Keys of course) and MANIPULATION was born an extreme danceable symbiosis of EBM and gloomy melodies with clear warm vocals. Since 1993 MANIPULATION have been a lot of performances (e. g. as Support of X MARKS THE PEDWALK) with good resonance. In 1994 FranKey (keyboards, samples) left the band and Willi (drums & back vocals) joined MANIPULATION. In July 1995 MANIPULATION recorded their debut - album at MACHINERY - Studio with Jor (AND ONE - Producer). In November 1995 MANIPULATION released their debut - CD "Sens `e´sation " (incl. Feel the same) on SYNTHETIC SYMPHONY/SPV. The album entered the German Alternative Charts on 20 for 2 weeks. In December 1995 MANIPULATION was Support of AND ONEs "I.S.T."-Tour and finished it with great success. There was a big delay between the first and the second album, ´ course the front man had got a hard disease a brain tumour. For this reason you can feel very personally experiences and feelings on the second album Tumor (especially if you concentrate on the lyrics). After changing the label the album was released on DIVENSION CHRISTINE a sub label of M.O.S. Records (distribute by EFA) in July 1998. It was recorded at Transistorlab Studio Berlin and produced by Andreas Koerber (Remixes for AND ONE and X PERIENCE) and Andreas Steckmann. The new songs partly are dynamical and powerful with distorted guitars, but there are also gloomy atmospheric Dark Wave ballads. After having some Live Gigs last years (e. g. on the Black Moon Festival with KNORKATOR, OOMPH!, SUICIDE COMMANDO, DAS ICH...) the musicians are concentrates on producing a new album, but MANIPULATION will also do some more performances next time. When you listen to MANIPULATION, you will feel the same (one of their greatest songs)!
