WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT LISABETH & MAGGIE'S LATEST ALBUM:
"Congratulations! Just a really fine recording, all around: songs, vocals, production, arrangements. It stands out and shines and makes me smile every time a song comes up on my I-Tunes." - Dave Tamulevich, The Roots Agency
"Lovely new release from these two. Bright, breezy and uplifting---that's what I love about Lisabeth and Maggie's music." - Gene Shay/WXPN
“Philly based singer-songwriter LisaBeth Weber has hit her stride with a pair of wonderful collaborative albums with Maggie Marshall; The Almost Live Sessions and the recent Fire Tower Sessions exemplify their beautiful interwoven harmonies, well crafted songwriting and exceptional production. Their concert performances are especially magical!” - Bruce Ranes, Sellersville Theater
""Line in the Sand" is an especially good song. It catches you with its upbeat tempo and catchy melody, then hits you with the power of its words." - Sonny Ochs, radio host, musical icon, sister of Phil Ochs
THE FIRE TOWER SESSIONS, an assortment of songs ranging from the state of the world to the state of grace was produced and engineered by Grammy music-maker BIL VORNDICK (RALPH STANLEY, BELA FLECK, BOB DYLAN, DOLLY PARTON, ALISON KRAUSS), the recording features the wonderful singers and players…..JONELL MOSSER, JOHNNY HILAND, SUSAN MARSHALL, TIM LORSCH, TOM ROADY, and BIL VORNDICK. With guitar, double bass, 3 part harmony, fiddle, mandolin, sizzlin’ lead guitar, smiling percussion, Tibetan bells, and angel harp, the record presents an exciting array of tunes…some old-timey-ish, some new, one borrowed and some bluegrassy.
MAIN LINE TODAY Magazine chose THE FIRE TOWER SESSIONS as a MUST BUY in their December 2007 issue, and wrote, “LisaBeth Weber is a keen observer—simultaneously witty, cynical, vulnerable and poignant. Her latest disc blends neo-folk and bluegrass with compelling social commentary and uplifting harmonies. The emotionally charged "Line in the Sand," a song that asks pointed questions about the war in Iraq, was dubbed "the anthem of the decade" by Peace Talks Radio.”
LisaBeth and Maggie have been performing together for about the last 7 years. It all started one night at a party at Maggie and Jimmy's house. They'd met at music festivals and such, and Maggie and Jimmy had just been at LisaBeth's record release party, but they were all just getting to know each other better. The campfire was blazing and the song circle went round and round. When it was LisaBeth's turn, she sang an original song and couldnt believe her ears as Maggie sang the entire song with her, word for word, in perfect harmony as if they'd rehearsed it a bunch of times. When the circle came around again, Maggie did it again with a different song. Turns out Maggie got LisaBeth's CD at the record release party and proceeded to learn nearly every song on it. LisaBeth was nearly speechless (no easy feat!) and immediately said to Maggie, Hey, want to sing with me on stage sometime?! The rest is history. Oh yeah, and then theres the part where Maggie came home from Fiddle Camp a few years ago and said, I play the bass now! And now LisaBeth can't imagine a show without Maggie's stellar harmonies and bass playing.
LisaBeth (with and without Maggie) has performed at a mazillion venues and festivals. She's been on the radio and in the newspaper bunches of times, as well as having two songs featured on NPRs (NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO) CARTALK. She's recorded 3 CDs of original music, including, THE ALMOST LIVE SESSIONS, a collection of 12 original songs with an old-time front porch flavor, great harmonies, a little bit of whimsy, a waltz or two, and a tune you'll likely never hear on the radio. Along with the beautiful harmonies of MAGGIE MARHSALL and ANTJE DUVEKOT, the CD was recorded with everyone performing at the same time, on one track, with mostly one or 2 takes. SING OUT MAGAZINE says: This is a charmingly honest recording. Weber sings with a full, delightfully pleasing voice, and the harmonies from Marshall and Antje are icing on the cake. The strong melodies of her songs and their mostly positive, upbeat lyrics cast the same kind of enchantment of some of Kate Wolf's recordings. The easily accessible songs make this recording a good way to repeatedly spend the better part of an hour.
LisaBeth's other recordings include, BYE BYE BUSH, a short collection of songs for the times, and FARMHOUSE SESSIONS, (her debut CD), engineered by renowned sound guy SEAN MCCLINTOCK (google that!)
LisaBeth (with and without Maggie) has opened shows for over 50 national acts, including Ralph Stanley, Asleep at the Wheel, Roy Clark, Marty Sexton, Susan Werner, John Gorka, The Mammals, Loudon Wainwright III, Patty Larkin, David Wilcox, Vance Gilbert, Christine Lavin, Tom Paxton, Todd Snider, Dave Carter & Tracy Grammar, Tom Rush, Tom Chapin, Geno Delafose, Fred Eaglesmith, Jonathan Edwards, Steve Forbert, John Hammond, Eleanor McEvoy, Bill Miller, James McMurtry, Bill Morrissey, Orleans, Jonathan Richman, John Sebastian, Darden Smith, Chris Smither, Todd Snider, Trout Fishing in America, Sloan Wainwright, Cheryl Wheeler, Robin and Linda Williams, Jay Ungar & Molly Mason, and more.
LisaBeth is also a visual artist, and is most noted for her line of socially conscious pins, worn by Hillary Clinton and Gloria Steinem, among others. She has been recognized nationally for her efforts in spreading awareness of crucial matters in social justice, cancer prevention, women's issues, politics, and the environment. Her clients have included The National Breast Cancer Coalition, N.O.W. (National Organization for Women), The Black Womens Health Imperative, Natural Lands Trust, Greenpeace, and more. She has raised money for disaster relief, and continues to give back through donating design services and pins, and raising money for organizations through pin sales. LisaBeth is also an illustrator/calligrapher, showcasing "THE CERTIFICATE OF NEW HOPE", and QUOTATION ART; a series of prints with timely quotes of historic and current figures. In addition, LisaBeth is a noted lettering artist, and has designed a font for the INTERNATIONAL TYPEFACE CORPORATION. It's called ITC "weber hand", and is available at www.fonts.com.

The consummate Renaissance woman, LisaBeths volunteer efforts continue. This year alone, she was a theater team leader at the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL, worked in filmmaker guest services at the PHILADELPHIA FILM FESTIVAL, and with the filmmaker department at the TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL. She has written articles for the NATIONAL SEARCH DOG FOUNDATION, and has worked on politics (albeit admitting she doesn't like politics) because she felt it was the right thing to do. See her blog at www.thebluestatespecial.blogspot.com. LisaBeth has also been published in PERFORMING SONGWRITER magazine with an article she wrote about the renowned engineer David Hewitt, his approach to live recording, and his company, Remote Recording Services (www.remoterecording.com).
