The Black Donnellys are a 6 piece Irish band playing there own brand of up tempo folk/trad music. The band in the past has worked with Ronnie Drew of the Dubliners, Terry Woods of the Pogues, and George Murphy of euro star fame to name a few. At the moment the band are working on a new album of Ewan Mac Coll songs with a host of guests including John Spillaine Paddy Casey Liam Clancy Keith Donald (of Moving Hearts) Christy Dignam (of Aslan) George Murphy and more besides. The live show is high energy and has been very well received in Ireland and around Europe. Songs such as go move shift, Finnegans wake, Irish rover, dirty ould town, john Henry, rare ould mountain dew, whisky in the jar, are some of the highlights. Like all good live shows the words won't do it justice you've got to see it for yourself.
