Mike Stevenz and K.T. (Keith) first met in Gossips Rock Club, London, in 1988. Both regular faces on the scene, meeting up at various rock clubs, they became friends. It was at one of these clubs, the Astoria, they decided to form a band. Immediately they chose a name, and placed ads for like-minded musicians to join them. The first auditions were held in an appropriately sleazy little room in Camden and was an unmitigated disaster, with only one stalwart glamster showing. He was hired on the spot after his drumming had impressed, and so Waz (Warren) joinedSoon replies were coming thick and fast to adverts placed in Kerrang! and other rock press advertised within, still needed were the lead and rhythm guitarists. The next round of auditions was also held in Camden, Kaj was found to take the rhythm guitar post. A huge response to the Lead guitar placing was soon whittled down to Paul. In this case his talent and gear far out-classed his image, but musicianship was (and is) also important to these guys. And so Sticky Sweet was complete; the year was 1990, time to be unleashed on the world.Gigging began in earnest 2 months into the new decade. A Battle of the Bands contest at the Cartoon in Croydon and a support act in the now defunct Marquee were highlights of the many minor gigs the band undertook. An U.K. tour was being finalised when an ominous band meeting was called. K.T., Kaj and Paul had decided they wanted to jump on the rising grunge bandwagon. The classic musical differences was cited in this premature break-up of Sticky Sweet.Mike and Waz refused to be beaten and resumed the advertising and auditioning, new members came and went but always one was missing. In the end it proved too debasing for Waz and he too left .Mike moved up North in 1997, after stints with many other bands, but Sticky Sweet was always Mikes baby. He placed his music on the web (MP3.com) for others to hear; to his surprise Magazines, Fanzines, Radio Stations and Record Companies emailed their interest, wanting CDs and gigs to review. sticky sweets time has come again.2001 Mike reformed Sticky Sweet with like minded musicians(Andy,Si and Mike) a few gigs past then the Guitarist(Andy) was advised by his doctor to give up the music business due to it was making him going deaf. So again Sticky Sweet was faultering after finding a new guitarist the rest of the band and guitarist decided that Sticky Sweet wasn't what they wanted to do and went on to form a classic rock band(now no more).Mike decided to give it one last chance to make Sticky Sweet work he found musicians with people he works with(Steve,Paul,Jim) and the promo Album was released after 6 months,Jim left and was quickly replaced by Val who also was found at work.
